Video - Anti-SLAPP Training in Slovakia

In these two videos, Attorney-in-law Tomáš Langer LL.M., author of the Slovak Anti-SLAPP curriculum working with MEMO 98, PATFox’s Slovak partner organisation, delivers some extracts from the first training workshop organised for the Slovak legal community in December 2022.

In the first video, he gives a general introduction to the phenomenon of SLAPP lawsuits, and what type of lawsuit constitutes the core meaning of SLAPP. In the second, six minute long ,video he outlines the most notable examples of SLAPP related to freedom of expression from international case law of the European Court of Human Rights as well as domestic rulings of the Slovak and Czech Constitutional Courts.
